Cape Breton Squash Open

Welcome to the Cape Breton Squash Open being played at the Sydney YMCA!

The tournament will kick off Friday May 5th at 5pm and we will do our best to schedule first matches for out of town players late Friday or early Saturday morning (let us know if you have a preference). We are opening registration with two Divisions: All-Mixed and Women. Depending on registration numbers the divisions may be combined. Finals will play out early afternoon on Sunday May 7th.

The tournament includes a tournament souvenir, snacks and coffee across the whole weekend, and a Saturday night social (Details to follow).

It has been very disappointing news to receive that, our cherished home club with two beautiful regulation courts, is on the cusp of operational changes which are slated to include permanent re-purposing of one court to become a spin-bike studio, while the second court will be used as a shared space between squash and other YMCA programming.  All while we’ve seen growth in squash across NS over the last five years, and expansion of the community coaching program in the Sydney Club through 4 local members.

Looking forward to a weekend of squash with a fantastic community!
